so when miley gets on stage and emanates her sexuality she’s criticised (I was one of them) but when Beyonce does the exact same, she is owning it and such a role model. don’t get me wrong, i love queen bey and i understand that people look at it differently because her and jay-z are happily married, and it’s a good thing to show such an attraction to each other. it just bothers me a little that she gets on stage and shows off this new body and the importance of sex down our throats.
i know that this is because of my own insecurities and i am projecting them onto her. i just feel personally victimised when i hear her calling herself “Mrs Carter” opposed to “Independent Woman” and showing off a thigh gap. (once again, insecurities). Like, I always admired Beyonce because she would stand against all current assumption of what a female would have to look like and would have to do.
look, it’s great she is being healthy and is happy in her marriage. and i am a major fan of her and her efforts for feminism. i just am curious if it’s hypocritical to call one woman a whore and the other an inspiration.
